Abstract

787,137. Sack and bag holders. ARSAN, N. T. July 15, 1955 [July 18, 1954], No. 20575/55. Class 58. [Also in Group XIV] An article supporting device comprises a plurality of upright legs 1 and an open frame connecting the upper ends of the legs, each leg being provided along its length with means for adjustably supporting a table top element or elements 6, each element being provided with holes through which the legs pass. In one embodiment the open frame comprises two rings 8, 9 clamped together by bolts 10 and between which the mouth of a sack may be inserted, while the supporting means comprises ratchet teeth 5 on each leg engaged by spring biased arms 7 pivoted on the underside of the table top element. Alternatively each leg may be threaded to receive a wing nut supporting the table top element. In a second embodiment the frame is rectangular and its side members have upwardly directed ratchet teeth locating transverse rods also provided with upwardly directed teeth and supporting sack holders comprising a hook 17 from which depends a pair of arms 18 clamped over the mouth of a sack by a bolt 19.
