Abstract

635,887. Bedsteads. FOSTER, A. E. Oct. 7, 1948, No. 26116. [Class 52 (ii)] A folding cot comprises uprights and longitudinal and transverse members mounted on the uprights, clamping means for fixing the members to the posts and a flexible hammock slung from the upper members, the frame being adapted to be collapsed in a parallel manner and to be dismantled into its component parts. As shown, upper members 4, 5 and lower members 6, 7 are provided with apertured end lugs 8 adapted to be threaded in to the posts 1. The upper ends of the posts 1 are threaded and provided with adjustable abutments 15 against which the lugs 8 of the upper members bear and are adapted to be clamped by nuts 14. The lower members 6, 7 are positioned between rubber &c. abutments 9 which are threaded on to the posts 1. On slackening the nuts the frame with the slung hammock in position can be folded by means of a parallel motion, the mattress 13 being removable or placed in a vertical position. The posts 1 are provided with removable rubber feet 3 and the frame may be dismantled into its component parts.
