Abstract

786,556. Moulds for gypsum wall-panels &c. PETRADENE, Ltd. July 7, 1953, No. 18875/53. Class 87(2). A mould for wall panels comprises side members 1 and 2 resting on a base plate and having inclined abutment surfaces 4, 7, to make them self-aligning on assembly. The members are held rigidly together by means of tie-bolts 10 carried by bolts 8 screwing into bosses 9 on the uprights 1<SP>11</SP> of plates 1, the other end of the tie-bolts 10 resting in U-shaped recesses in lugs 11 on members 2 and having wing nuts 13 which draw the members rigidly together when tightened, warping being prevented by bearer plates 15. In making plaster panels as in Specification 786,555 a plaster slurry is poured into the assembled mould and a corrugated asbestos sheet is supported on the pins 23 which slide in T-pieces 20 supported in bores 19 in studs 18. When the slurry has set, the panel is withdrawn, the T-pieces are moved to the other studs 18, a plaster slurry is introduced into the re-assembled mould and the inverted panel is re-introduced to cast thereon the other surface. The studs 18 may be replaced by bolts located in elongated apertures in the plate 17 whereby they may be adjusted along the length of members 2.
