786,485. Permanent magnet machines. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. May 4, 1955 [May 4, 1954], No. 12974/54. Class 35. A generator has on its rotor a permanent magnet with each of its opposite pole faces abutting a support for a toothed laminated ring, and one ring can be angularly adjusted. As shown, one of the laminated polepieces 10, 11 is angularly adjustable on the end rings 6, 7 between which the annular axially magnetized magnet 4 is held, the adjustment being made during assembly or subsequently to adjust the voltage induced in the stator winding. A magnetizing coil 5 is provided for use during manufacture or for subsequent re-magnetization.
