Classes 89(1) and 89(2) A supporting structure for a mine wall or a pit shaft has individual members 9, Fig. 3, connected to one another by means comprising a disc 6 rotatably guided within a disc 1 and a clamping member, such as a bolt 3, arranged eccentrically with respect to the disc 1. The disc 6 is preferably mounted eccentrically within the disc 1 which is accommodated within a lug 11 at the end of a strut 10. Rotation of the disc 1 which is accommodated with a lug take place due to soil pressure and permits relative adjustment of the members of the supporting structure. The members 9 and discs 1 may have roughened or grooved surfaces where they are in contact with each other. In Fig. 1, the member 1 has prongs 4 driven into a bunton 2. The bolt 3 may be replaced by a cotter or wedge fastening.
