Abstract

A composition for protection against moths and beetles comprises a mixture of a sulphonated o,o1-dihydroxy-triphenyl methane derivative and a dibutyl ether of a salt of a 2,21-dihydroxy tetra- or penta-chlorotriphenyl methane sulphonic acid. In examples, a solution is formed by boiling in water a mixture of the methylene ether described in Example 1 of Specification 726,789, [Group VIII], and the sodium salt of 2,21 - di - n - butoxy - 3,5,31,51,411 - pentachlorotriphenyl - methane - 611 - sulphonic acid. Dyestuffs or beleaching materials may be added.
