Abstract
532,975. Proofing permeable materials. LOWE, W. Sept. 21, 1939, No. 26333. [Class 140] Animal fibres are proofed against moth larvae mould and rotting by treatment with a solution of a mixture of chromium fluaride and sodium antimony fluoride. Preferably the mixture is used in amounts equivalent to 1.25 per cent. by weight of the material to be proofed. A convenient solution contains 1“ oz. per gallon. Dyed materials may be fixed with bichromate and subsequently proofed, or fixing and proofing may be carried out simultaneously by adding the bichromate to the proofing solution. Specifications 413,445, 413,529 and 454,458 are referred to.
