Abstract

783,884. Rotary pumps. CLARK, R. E. D. April 15, 1955 [June 12, 1954], No. 17354/54. Class 110 (2). In a rotary pump of the flexible tube type the tube E is mounted in a three-part casing F and engaged by a series of cylindrical or tapered rollers C. The shaft A is carried by two metallic strips N which are adjustably pivoted to the casing at P and movable to bring the rollers into contact with the tube by a screw S acting against the action of a spring or springs (not shown). The rollers may act on two adjacent tubes so as to pump more than one fluid at the same time. Longitudinally extending metallic or non- metallic thread, tape, ribbon or wire may be bonded to or incorporated in the rubber tube and the casing may be made of plastic, metal or wood. A scale or pointer V is frictionally amounted on a sleeve U which is free to turn about the shaft A.
