Abstract

782,218. Cooling bearings. GUINARD, P. A. June 22, 1955 [June 25, 1954], No. 18114/55. Class 12 (1). A removable tubular member 10 is disposed in a bearing housing so that an annular chamber is formed between the outer wall of the tube 10 and the housing through which cooling liquid is circulated. Packing 12 is located in a groove in the housing adjacent each end of the tube 10. An inlet 14 and outlet 13 are provided for the cooling liquid. An oil reservoir is formed between the tube 10, shaft 3 and bearings 5, 6 and has a filling aperture 15 and a transparent levelindicating plug 17.
