Class 44 [Also in Group VII] A device of the hook-fastener type for connecting together two overlaping edge or end portions of articles of wearing apparel, such as the waist band of trousers, comprises two separable parts 1 and 11, Figs 6 and 7, the part 1 consisting of a substantially rectangular plate with its longitudinal edge portions 4 raised above a relatively depressed longitudinal middle or base portion 3 adapted to seat upon and be secured to one of the edge or end portions of the garments, and the other part 11 consisting of a member adapted to seat upon and be secured to the other edge or end portion of the garment and having two spaced-apart opposed hook-shaped portions 12 adapted to be engaged slidably with the raised edge portions 4 of the part 1, stops being provided on the -latter to limit the relating sliding movements of the part 11 in one direction. In the example the limiting stops are provided by prongs 8 formed integrally with the ends of the edge portions 4 located nearer to the free end or edge of the garment, the prongs 8 and a prong 6 on the opposite end of the central portion 3 3 being employed in known manner in co-operation with an apertured back-plate 10, Fig. 2 (not shown) to secure the plate. The co-operating bar member 11 is provided with rearwardly directed prongs 13 which are bent behind an apertured back plate. In a modification, Fig. 12 (not shown) a pair of prongs are pressed out from the central portion 3 of the plate. 1, in addition to the prongs 8 at the ends of the margins 4.
