Abstract
781,614. Jointing by forging. BRITISH INSULATED CALLENDER'S CABLES, Ltd. Feb. 22, 1956 [Feb. 23, 1955], No. 5490/55. Class 83 (4). [Also in Group XXXVI] A branch connector comprises a pair of channelled T-shaped members 1 of malleable metal united at their head portions by a web 4 about which they are bent to form sleeves for main and branch conductors 8, 9. A sleeve 10 threaded on the branch conductor is then slid over the legs 3 of members 1 to hold them together whilst the ends of the head portions, and the sleeve, are compressed by dies to cause the members to grip the conductors. Specification 762,784 is referred to.
