Abstract
781,107. Rotors with permanent magnets. GLOBE INDUSTRIES, Inc. Feb. 22, 1955 [March 8, 1954], No. 5274/55. Class 35. The permanent magnet stator of a motor has an axial recess in each pole to reduce the cross-section in that region, as shown in Fig. 2, the stator is a hollow cylinder 40 with two diametrically opposite grooves 42 in its outer periphery occupied by the studs 100, 102 which clamp together the cover 20, magnet 40, and brass, aluminium or plastic casing 10, the studs also passing through plastic members 62 which have bosses 70 mounting the brush springs 68 and recesses in which the brushes slide. Terminals 86, 88 project outwardly from member 62 through apertures in the end cap. The stator magnet is magnetized in situ, and the axial grooves could be in the inner periphery.
