Abstract
666,409. Machines with permanent magnets. PRIMA INDUSTRIES, Ltd., and BLOOM, J. L. Nov. 3, 1949 [Jan. 10, 1949], No. 621/49. Class 35. A tyre driven dynamo for cycles has an annular imbricatal pole-type stationary armature within which a rotor is provided having interdigitated poles embracing a permanent magnet, a bearing being provided on each side of the rotor. Fig. 1 shows a two-part casing 12a, 12b within which an annular stator formed of metal pressings 23a, 23b is firmly held. An armature coil 24 is accommodated inside the stator. Fig. 4 shows a rotor in the assembled condition and which comprises interdigitated teeth 15c, 15d respectively integrally connected with discs 15a, 15b which embraces an annular permanent magnet 21. In a modification, the permanent magnet is a rectangular block and the rotor spindle instead of being a single rod is formed of two parts, one fixed to the upper rotor disc and the other to the lower rotor disc.
