Abstract

780,674. Shearing. SCHLOEMANN AKT.- GES. March 29, 1955 [May 10, 1954], No. 9157/55. Class 83 (4). In a sheet-metal shearing-machine having a reciprocating blade co-operating with a fixed blade, one of the blades is adjustable about a pivot to allow adjustment of the angle between the cutting edges of the blades to be set before a cutting-stroke is made. The lower blade 12, Fig. 2, is fixed and the upper blade 19 is pivotally mounted at one end on a carrier 14 reciprocated by a crank-shaft 17. The other end of the upper blade 19 is connected by a toggle linkage to the carrier 14, the linkage being operable hydraulically, pneumatically or by a motordriven threaded spindle to vary the cutting angle. In a modification, the lower blade 12 is reciprocated by the crank-shaft 17 and the upper blade 19 is at one end pivoted on the frame and at the other end connected to the toggle linkage,
