778,157. Vehicle bodies. COUSE, K. W. Nov. 10, 1955, No. 32159/55. Class 108(1). A truck A has secured to its chassis a floor 1 at the ends of which are secured forward and rear transverse main bulkheads the latter being provided with access doors 12. To the outer edges of these bulkheads are hinged main extension panels 18 carrying super-extension panels 31 and to the ridge member 4 connecting the upper edges of the main bulkheads are hinged at 15 roof panels 16 having angularly related rigid sections 25, 26. The outer edges of the sections 26 carry super-extension roof panels 27 supported on the panels 31. The main floor 1 has floor extension panels 8 hinged at 9 to the main floor. Flexible canvas sides 44 secured to the panels 27 may close in the body sides or be used as an awning by means of supports 54. When the body is super-extended it is as shown but an extended condition may be obtained by folding the panels 31 inwardly to meet the outer edges of the floor extensions 8 and the panels 27 folded downwardly. For the collapsed condition both panels 18 and 31 are folded inwardly to form sides of the body, the roof extension 27 is folded upwardly under section 26 and then the roof panels 16 folded downwardly about their hinges 15. The lights 19 and roof lights 29 and 30 are so arranged that in the collapsed and extended conditions of the body they are in register.
