Abstract

296,265. Vallin, L. Nov. 23, 1927, [Convention date]. Caravans; collapsable vehicles; steps. - A collapsable caravan which may be a trailer vehicle comprises fixed sides 5 and floor 6 which may be extended by hinged portions 7, 8. In position of use it is supported by means of supports 9, 15 held in position by stays 12, 17. Beds 62, Fig. 3, are supported on the side panels 5, 7 and supports 39 while a cover comprising two canvas tent coverings 61, 63 is supported by a ridge truss 42, 47, 48 the members of which are collapsable preferably by being made telescopic and by stays 52 having extension pieces 53 secured thereto. One or more porch portions may be provided as indicated in Fig. 2. A step 20 is provided on the support 15, the step being pivoted so that it normally lies in the plane of the support and when desired it is fixed in the horizontal position by stays. In travelling position the side panels and floor extensions are folded back, additional panels 30, Fig. 1, are mounted on the side panels and a cover 31 provided, the beds, poles, &c. being stowed away in the interior.
