A display stand, Fig. 2, comprises end uprights and a cross-piece 30 constructed from a single blank, see Fig. 3 (not shown), a tray or two trays 55, 56 constructed from a single rectangular box divided into two sections hinged together, see Fig. 6 (not shown) and a cover or trough 80 constructed from three pieces of sheet material stapled together, see Fig. 7 (not shown). The stand may be provided with a bottom constructed from two pieces of sheet material see Fig. 10 (not shown). The cover 80 may be replaced by a canopy 110, Fig. 12, having scalloped edges 115 and constructed from the blank of Fig. 13 (not shown). In a modification, see Figs. 15 and 16 (not shown), the cross-piece supports two pairs of superimposed trays which are separated by a partition. The leg portion of the Y-shaped canopy and the end walls of the cover may be provided with a hand-slot. In a second modification, Fig. 17, the cross-piece 151 is connected to the uprights 150 by staples and said members 150, 151 are slotted to detachably receive trays 158, 159 having advertising flaps 164, if desired. Each upright or cross-piece is provided with tongues 167 or 168 respectively to receive a cover, see also Fig. 18 (not shown).
