776,792. Snap-action switches. SANTON, Ltd. Sept. 21, 1955 [Sept. 27, 1954], No. 27778/54. Class 38(5) A rotary switch in which a handle 7 drives a main hollow contactcarrying spindle 3 through an operating ' spring (not shown), a locking spring locking the spindle until the operating spring is sufficiently stressed, has an auxiliary spindle 4 rotatable within the spindle 3 and driven directly by the handle 7-through a rigid connection 5, 6. The spindle 4 carries a cam 8 which operates an auxiliary switch 10 through a roller 12 and arm 9 and this switch is therefore operated in advance of the main contacts controlled by the spindle 3. A cam 11 on the spindle 3 having recesses 13 co-operating with the roller 12 may restore the auxiliary switch 10 simultaneously with the operation of the main, switch contacts.
