Abstract

775,224. Pit props. GUTEHOFFNUNGSHUTTE STERKRADE AKT.-GES. March 29, 1955 [April 8, 1954], No. 9117/55. Class 20(2) A telescopic pit prop has an upper prop part 4 of U-shaped or channelled profile wherein clamping jaws 1 engaging the inner faces of the flanges are arranged to be forced apart by a wedge 2 in order to clamp the flanges against clamp supports 5 fixed between a pair of spaced clamp plates 6 carried by the upper end of the lower prop part 7, the web of the upper prop part 4 being provided with a longitudinal corrugation 4<SP>1</SP> to facilitate transverse extension of the upper prop section by the clamping jaws. The wedge 2 may be driven in by means of a cotter 3 passing through a slot in the wedge and guided in recesses in distance pieces 9 between the plates 6.
