In a servo control system of the closed loop type, in order to provide a torque-error angle relationship of a substantially linear form, as shown by the full line in Fig. 1, instead of the usual form represented by the curved dotted line, a device 18 is inserted between the resetter magslip 15 and the amplifier 17 of the servomotor 10 in Fig. 2, which has the effect of decreasing its impedance with increase of error angle, so that the torque-error relationship is of a form represented by the dotted curve in Fig. 5. Fig. 4 shows an arrangement for the non-linear element 18 in which potentiometers 22 are energized from an A.C. source 23 through transformer 24 so that a bias voltage is introduced through the rectifier circuit by bridge rectifiers 25. An arrangement for a more sensitive system in which additional magslips are geared through step-up gear-boxes to the transmitter resetter magslips is also described.
