Class 20(3) A bottom rail 1 for a window frame carrying on its upper edge a profile strip 3 of weatherproof, watertight material, e.g. nylon, provided with a rabbet 8 for acoommodating a pane 9 is characterized in that both of the longitudinal edges of the strip project beyond the bottom rail in a transverse direction, a slanting face 6 on the outer edge merging into a drip flange 12, and a slanting face 7 on the inner edge being bounded by a beaded edge 13 which on the lower side has a drip flange 14 and on the upper side, with the face 7, forms a small gutter for collecting condensation water. The strip 3 has a downwardly extending flange 5, screwed to it as a separate member, or formed integral therewith, which is nailed within a groove in the bottom rail 1. The pane 9 is secured into the rabbet 8, undercut slightly on the inner side, by means of wooden wedges 11 which are fixed between the pane 9 and a number of uniformly spaced abutments 10 formed integrally with the strip, and by means of putty.
