770,646. Plastic strip material. SVENSKA AKTIEBOLAGET POLVA. Oct. 2, 1953 [Oct. 7, 1952], No. 27,165/53. Class 109. [Also in Group XXVIII] A strip of plastic material, e.g. nylon, rubber, or of the materials sold under the Registered Trade Marks " Orlon," " Dynel " or " Dacron," is provided on one face with a bead 1 and on the opposite face with a groove 4, preferably furnished with hook-shaped parts 3 for engagement with projections on the bead 1, the bead and groove being positioned adjacent the longitudinal edges 10, 11 respectively of the strip, the arrangement being such that when the strip is helically wound, e.g. on a tube of constant or varying diameter, the bead 1 can engage releasably within the groove 4 to retain the helically wound strip in position. The strip may be furnished with a depression 19 adjacent the groove 4. In further modifications, the strip may be provided with a plurality of interengaging beads and grooves along its two edges. A channel 5 enables the strip to adapt itself more readily to the contour of the object about which it is wound.
