A contact pin carried by a rocker arm of an overhead valve I.C. engine comprises a rod A fitted in a hole in the arm so as to be prevented from turning and secured in position by nuts B,C, the end E of the rod being rounded one way only. The rod may be of square cross section where it fits in the arm, the end E being rounded from one flat side to the opposite side. The nut C may be part hexagonal and part conical.
