[Also in Group VI] Cigarettes Z, cigarillos or other tobacco rod articles are fed from a magazine D to a fluted drum 1 via straight passages 3a, 3b having tongues 3<11>, 3<111> coacting with grooves of eccentric rollers 6 rotating at the magazine outlet, and fingers 3<1> crossing the path of the flutes of the drum 1 which has entry guide surfaces 2<1> for the cigarettes Z. As shown, the magazine D is double and feeds passages 3a, 3b separated by a wall 4 the width of which corresponds to the length of the smallest double-length filter mouthpieces to be inserted between the cigarettes Z, an interchangeable spreader 5 being used to space the cigarettes to accommodate any other desired mouthpiece length.
