Abstract

The invention comprises chromium complexes of dyestuffs of formula <FORM:0767450/IV(b)/1> where R1 is an alkyl radicle of 2-4 carbon atoms and R2 is an alkyl radicle of 1-4 carbon atoms, preferably a methyl, ethyl or propyl group. They are made by diazotizing an appropriate 1-amino-2-hydroxy-benzene-5-alkylsulphone, coupling with the necessary 1-alkylsulphonylamino-7-naphthol and chroming the product preferably to give a complex containing one atom of metal per two mols of dyestuff. The dye-stuffs dye wool, silk, leather, polyamides and polyurethanes from neutral to weakly acid baths in bluish grey shades. Examples are provided in which R1 is ethyl and n-propyl and R2 is methyl and n-propyl. Specifications 730,036, 755,853 and 758,016 are referred to.
