Abstract

766,929. Saws. HILLE ENGINEERING CO., Ltd. Sept. 30, 1955 [Sept. 30, 1954], No. 28236/54. Class 145 A circular saw, which can operate in either direction of rotation, comprises a circular body 12 having integral teeth which are without set and are alternately of scriber and raker form; the raker :teeth 11 have V-shaped ends providing a pair of straight cutting edges 19 while the scriber teeth 10 which are also V-shaped, have a groove or grooves 17 along their sides to provide several cutting points 18 at a diameter about ten thousandths of an inch greater than that of the scriber teeth. .The :scriber teeth 10 are wider at their roots than the raker teeth 11 and both teeth have negative rake, providing a gullet 15 of gradually increasing width outwards for readier removal of sawdust or swarf. A radial slot 20 may divide each scriber and raker tooth and the cutting edges are sharpened by grinding the inclined faces 21. The body 12 is recessed between the.roots of the teeth and a central boss 14.
