Abstract

522,138. Saws. KINGHORN, E. R. Dec. 7, 1938, No. 35631. [Class 145 (ii)] Saw teeth, shown in Fig. 1, having their front edges steeper than their rear edges and their points set to opposite sides alternately, are cut by a triangular file which is held at an angle between 45 and 53 degrees to the plane of the saw, as viewed in plan in Fig. 6, and at an angle between 65 and 75 degrees as viewed in end elevation, Fig. 5. The side faces of the teeth may be subsequently honed to reduce the lateral set.
