Abstract
765,640. Stripping cables. JARRETT, A. W. Sept. 5, 1955 [March 15, 1955], No. 7512/55. Class 36. A core 4 is branched from a flexible cable by inserting a rigid sharp-ended tube 6 into one end of the cable sheath 2 so that the core is received in the tube, bending the cable at the point 5 where it is to be branched and continuing the movement of the tube so that the sharp end 7 pierces the sheath 2 and pushes the core through to form loop 9, a plunger 8 then being pushed along the tube to expel the core. The tube 6 may extend from a body 10 which may be used to determine the distance of penetration of the tube into the sheath. The plunger 8 passes through the body 10, the part projecting beyond the body being formed with a handle. The part of the plunger within the body may carry a stop to limit its withdrawal.
