Abstract

764,717. Pineapples, peeling and core removing. HOLMES, R. Oct. 18, 1955 [Aug. 6, 1954], No. 22855/54. Class 28(2) A pineapple with its ends cut off is cored and peeled by descending inner and outer spaced concentric cutter-ended tubes 28 and 26 slid down inside a fixed sleeve 13 by the handle 21 of a lever 16. On raising the cutter tubes by the handle 21 the core is ejected by a fixed ejector plate 35 while the outside peel is ejected by the fixed annular plate 37. Both ejector plates are fixed to a crosslead 32 adjustably secured in slots 31 in extensions of the fixed sleeve 13. The cutting tubes are secured to a yoke 20 in the lever 16. The pivot 17 of the lever 16 is movable to various holes in the link 14 to suit various heights of pineapple. Outside cutters 27 split the peel into lengths.
