Abstract
764,349. Taking-up slack in electric cables. KABELSCHLEPP GES. Jan. 13, 1955 [Jan. 13, 1954], No. 1117/55. Class 78 (2) Supporting means for electric cables 4, 5, 6 comprise a carrying chain 1, 2 in which the cables are supported and guide rails 10, 11 for guiding the chain, which rails have a part thereof curved, the rail moving along and being guided on a fixed supporting track 14 extending in the direction of said path. As shown, the cables run from a lathe carriage (not shown) to a fixed junction-box 16, the cables being carried by cross members 3 of chain 1, 2, which chain runs in the guide rails 10, 11 which latter runs on wheels 13 upon track 14. The guide rails 10, 11 move in sympathy with the movement of the lathe carriage to prevent slack forming in the cable. The radius of curvature of the guide rails 10, 11 is chosen to avoid relative movement between cables and chain.
