Abstract
1,067,684. Dispensing liquids. E. N. MARTIN and D. B. MAXSON. Sept. 15, 1964, No. 37720/64. Heading A4T. [Also in Division B1] A mixing device suitable for a beverage dispenser has a mixing chamber 12 with one wall 10 of generally volute form 11, 11a, 11b. Powder or syrup is supplied at 25 and hot water at 30; part of the water forms a jet 28a which creates a vortex in the chamber, and part is discharged at 26 to wash out the hopper 21. The mixture is aerated by the injector action of the jet 28a which entrains air and carries it into the vortex, and is discharged through the laterally offset outlet conduit 36. A side wall of the chamber is detachable, its securing bolts and wing-nuts also being used to retain the mixer on its support, see Fig. 2 (not shown).
