763,844. Arc welding electrode holder. KAGI, O. W. Jan. 29, 1954, No. 2697/54. Class 39(3) An arc welding electrode holder comprises two flat metal bars 1 connected near one end by a screw 3, so, that by introducing a supply cable 5 between the bars at that end end, the other ends are pressed together to clamp an electrode. A curved lever 12 has a short arm 11 carrying a lentil-shaped member 10 at its extremity placed as shown, so that when the lever 12 is pressed against the holder, the bars separate to receive the electrode, which is held in opposed grooves 6 at various angles on the inner faces of the bars. A tubular handle 9 placed over the bars is of insulating material, e.g. plastic or asbestos, and may extend over the tops of the bars and be apertured to receive the electrode. The handle may be in parts removable from the bars and may have slits, one of which is connected to a device for drawing cooling air and removing foul gases through the handle.
