Abstract

763,430. Colour television tubes. CHROMATIC TELEVISION LABORATORIES, Inc. Jan. 13, 1955 [Jan. 14, 1954], No. 1096/55. Class 39(1). The deflection control grid of a colour television tube comprises a wire wound continuously on two supports so as to lie substantially in two planes, the wire parts in one plane being urged by bars to lie in the plane of the other wire parts and held in this position The grid structure is a rectangular frame 30 made of angle pieces 32 and supports 34 of doubled-over steel strip, and a continuous wire is wound helically on the supports 34 to form two sets 44, 46. A bar 48 at each frame end, grooved if desired, presses the wires 44 into the plane of the wires 46, and is itself secured by rivets and angle brackets to the angle pieces 32. The supports 34 may be grooved obliquely to bring the wires into correct relative position. The wires may rest in grooves in an insulating support bar on the glass plate 26 of the phosphor screen.
