763,427. Reciprocating electric motors. BRANDT & FRERE SOC. ANON., O. L. Dec. 21, 1954 [Jan. 16, 1954], No. 36887/54. Class 35. [Also in Group XVIII] In an electric timepiece the maintaining circuit of balance 1, Fig. 1, includes an electronic switch, e.g. a transistor 15 connected as shown in Fig. 2 to two coils 12, 13 which co-operate respectively with an armature 9 on the balance 1 and an armature 11 on the disc 10 mounted on the balance staff. The armatures 9, 11 may be magnets or of ferromagnetic material. The gear train to the hands may be driven by a pawl moving with the balance staff or the alternating voltage or pulses delivered by the coil 13 may feed an electric motor which drives said gear train.
