Abstract
762,707. Harvesters. ANDERSON, B. H. June 28, 1954 [June 29, 1953], No. 18882/54. Class 58. A harvester 3 comprises a thrashing drum 5, an agitatable straw rack 3a, a conveyer 1 located in a separation chamber 2 behind the drum, adjustable means, e.g. arms 13 secured to a shaft 14, for deflecting and teasing the thrashed crop as it passes along the conveyer from the drum to the straw rack, shaker arms 16 projecting from the outer end of the straw rack and moving with it, and a sorting riddle 17 located under the arms 16. The riddle 17 may be secured to the main riddle 18 so that they move in unison. The shaft 14 may be turned by a handle 15. The conveyer may comprise a plurality of endless belts across which wooden slats 1a carrying teeth 6 are secured, the said belts being passed around rollers 4a and 4b. The lower roller 4a may be mounted between plates 7 adjustably secured to the walls of the chamber 2 by bolts 9 which pass through the walls and slots in the plates and engage nuts.
