Class 20(1) A cylindrical silo is built up of arcuate wall segment 21-23 of expanded metal supported by spaced metal bands 5, 6 &c. bolted to vertical angles 9, 10 between which the expanded metal' is held, the expanded metal being arranged so that the surfaces of the meshes inclined to prevent outflow of the grain. The frame 1 is stiffened by sets of stays 24. A central ventilation tube 26 is provided with a fan and air heater chamber 27, the expanded metal of the tube being sloped to prevent grain entering. The grain may be bagged at shoots or sliding &c. doors arranged in the wall segments. The device rests on a wooden stand 25. Specification 761,849 is referred to.
