760,964. Lawn sweepers. ALLEN & SONS (OXFORD), Ltd., J. Jan. 26. 1955 [Jan. 27, 1954], No. 2466/54. Class 6(2). A lawn sweeper comprises a frame having sideplates 12 connected together by tie rods 13 and 14 and carrying stub axles 20 which support road wheels 17. A brush shaft 27 carrying brush supports 29 has at each end a gear wheel 31 which, as the implement is moved forward, engage the internal teeth 18 of the road wheels and by means of pawls 32 cause the brush shaft to rotate the height of the brushes is adjusted by means of side brackets 41 acting in co-operation with plates 34. A deflector plate 33 supported on the plates 34 serves the purpose of directing the sweepings into a flexible receptacle 22, the receptacle being carried on a, frame 23, the forward ends of which are journalled on the ends of the tie rod 14 and the rear of which is bolted to the handlebars 19.
