760,952. Container closures. DYSON, W. J., and WALLIS TIN STAMPING CO., Ltd. Dec. 1, 1954 [Dec. 4, 1953; March 1, 1954; Sept. 13, 1954], Nos. 33829/53; 5983/54 and 26478/54. Class 125(3). A closure cap 15 for jam jars &c. has an annular recess 16 to accommodate a sealing compound 17 and a resilient flange 18 indented at diametrically opposite points 20, 21 to engage under the shoulder 14 of the jar 10 there being clearance elsewhere between the flange 18 and the neck ring 12 of the jar so that pressure at the opposite ends of a diameter at right angles to the regions 20, 21 distorts the flange outwardly at 20, 21 and allows removal of the cap. The cap may also be used on jars having an interrupted screw thread.
