Abstract
755,452. Liquid fuel, burners. BASBERG, A., and GRONLIND, K. O. April 1, 1954 [April 1, 1953], No. 9600/54. Class 75(1). [Also in Group XII] A shaft kiln for burning limestone (see Group XII) is fitted with a plurality of oil burners 16, each comprising a nozzle 17, a two-part extendible tube 25, 30, and an oil supply pipe 27 arranged concentrically of one another. Oil fuel is supplied through a valve 20 and is discharged through an atomiser 29 disposed near the mouth of the front part 30 of the extendible tube which is actuated by a control 32. Steam or atomised water supplied through a port 19 is given a whirling motion by a screw member 28 as it reaches the atomiser. A flared sleeve 33 actuated by a control 35 co-acts with a seating 34 to control the passage of flue gases supplied through a port 18.
