Abstract

Classes 36 and 38 (1). In the joints or terminals for high-tension cables disclosed in the parent Specification, the stress-distribution ring is made of a synthetic resin similar to, and having approximately the same coefficient of expansion as, the insulation in which it is embedded, the ring being rendered conductive by the combination therewith of a conductive material such as a metal or carbon black. The conductive material may be applied as a coating on the surface of the ring, or may be incorporated in the resin from which the ring is formed. The ring may be connected to the cable sheath.
