Abstract

755,073. Pneumatic separating. AKTIEBOLAGET HALLANDS FROKONTOR. Aug. 3, 1954, No. 22499/54. Class 117. Cereals &c. raised by an elevator 9 pass down an inclined duct 10 to an adjustable nozzle 11 from which they are fed to the centre of a shallow conical spreader 4. As the material falls off the edge of member 4, the lighter fraction is carried by an upward air current, guided past the edge by an annular member 3, into a conical housing 1 communicating with a conduit 2 connected to a suction fan. Below the member 3 is a hopper 7 which collects the heavier fraction and a second separation occurs at the air inlet between the hopper edge and the member 3. A hollow conical body 6 with its edge just above the edge of the spreader 4, defines the air passage in the housing 1, the cross sectional area of which decreases in the direction of the air current.
