753,995. Axle-bearing guiding arrangements for railway vehicles. METALASTIK, Ltd. Feb. 23, 1955 [Feb. 23, 1954], No. 5260/54. Addition to 720,365. Class 103 (6). In a modification of the invention claimed in Claim 1 of the parent Specification one or more of the rubber blocks 14 of each compound resilient element 12 is or are offset in a vertical direction with respect to the adjacent rubber block or blocks nearer to the axle box 11. Preferably each rubber block is of less height, Fig. 2, and of greater width, Fig. 4, than the rubber block nearer to the axle box. Each resilient element 12 is secured at one end to an adapter block 17 which has a groove 18 to receive a rib 13 of the axle box casting 11 and rests on an adjustable bolt 24. A locking bar 23 is passed through the heads of both bolts. The outer end of each element 12 is received in a pocket-like bracket 16 on the body of the vehicle.
