Abstract
753,807. Mouldings. COWDROY, T. C. Sept. 7, 1954 [Sept. 8, 1953], No. 25865/54, Class 20(4). A cover strip or moulding 12, Fig. 3, is fastened to a surface 11 by securing spring detents 10 to the surface 11 and applying pressure to the strip 12 so that the detents enter a recess 17 provided in the strip and engage ratchet teeth 16 formed therein. Each detent 10 is fastened by a screw 14 passing through an aperture in a securing portion 13, and a cavity 18 is formed in the strip 12 to receive the screw head. The strip 12 has a top flange 19 to engage the upper surface of an object to which it is applied and is arcuately formed to provide clearance from surface 11. In a modification, Fig. 6, a double spring detent 27 is screwed to the surface 30, which may be a wall stud, and the strip 20 has two sets of ratchet teeth 23 formed in the recess 24. Flanges 25 on strip 20 engage wall sheets 21, 22. In a further form, Fig. 9, an internal corner cover strip 31 has flanges 37 to engage wall sheets 32 and is firmly retained in position by double sets of ratchet teeth 33 engaged by double spring detents 34 extending from portions 46 screwed at 36 to studs or timbering 35.
