Class 40(1) [Also in Groups XX, XXXV and XXXVII] The voltage output of a potentiometer type signal generator 19 is controlled in correspondence with the air-speed of an aircraft as measured by a senser 17, through a servo-control system comprising selsyns 21, 24, servomotor 26 having a rate generator 30 in its control circuit, and reduction gearing driving the potentiometer arm 33. The signal from the potentiometer is corrected for flight angle by a cosine resolver 40 and used to control the speed of the gyroscope rotor 16 so that it is proportional to horizontal air-speed.
