Abstract

752,080. Rotor blades for helicopters. WARTO, A. June 30. 1953 [July 18, 1952], No. 18158/53. Class 4. A helicopter rotor blade which has the planform profile shown in Fig. 1, comprises, as shown in sectional view, Fig. 4, a top-plate 1 connected adjacent the leading edge 5 by a middle plate 3 to a lower plate 2. The upper and middle plates 1, 3 include an obtuse angle at a point one-third of the length of the blade from the tip 9, the size of the angle gradually increasing in both directions from said point towards the tip and the root. The plate 1 is provided adjacent the tip with a portion 14 of reduced thickness formed by cutting away part of the underside of the plate.
