Abstract

551,556. Airscrews. CHARLES, H. N. July 25, 1941, No. 9492. [Class 114] In a variable-pitch, metal-bladed airscrew having a spinner and filler plates for the blade openings therein, cuffs are providedwhich are secured to the filler plates and extend along the blades, the cuffs being of streamline section. The cuffs 17, secured to the filler plates 14, enclose the cylindrical roots 11 of the blades and a rubber sleeve 22 is provided to provide a smooth junction between the cufl and blade 10.
