[Also in Group XXV] In an adjustable fastener for securing together two parts such as the sock clamp and by band of a sock suspender or the two end portions of a trouser or skirt waist band or brassiere and comprising an anchor strip consisting of a series of anchor bars formed from a length of wire fixed on one of the parts, the wire is bent into a zig-zag strip to form the spaced parallel bars. As shown in Fig. 1, the zig-zag anchor strip 1 is secured to the suspender-leg band 7 by a longitudinal cord 5 running through a concave central portion 4, Fig. 2, of each anchor bar and stitched to the strip 7 by a row of stitches 6. A hook 3 formed on the end of the sock supporting link 8 engages convex side portions of the bars, the hook being pivoted in the side flaps 11 of a slide member 12 of U-section whose limbs 13 have inwardly directed flanges 14, Fig. 2, slidably engaging under the bends 2 of the anchor strip. As shown in Fig. 6, the sides of the supporting strip 7a are turned back over the bends 2a and stitched down to the strip 7a which at one end is secured to the elastic band 19 of one end of a brassiere, the band 20 on the other end 21 being threaded through a transverse slot 16 in the hook plate 15 having at its end a hook 3a to engage the central portion of the bars. The slot 16 may be open at one end to facilitate removal of the hook plate from the band 20.
