749,899. Grinding wall tiles. MARIENBERGER MOSAIKPLATTENFABRIK AKT.-GES. Dec. 31, 1953 [Jan. 12, 1953], No. 36269/53. Class 60 A number of wall tiles d are simultaneously ground to accurate width by placing them one behind the other on a support or table e, f and moving them, relative to a grinding roller g, in a direction normal to the axis of the grinding roller, the axis being parallel to the longitudinal edges of the tiles so that the grinding of successive tiles is effected transversely to the longitudinal edges of the tiles. The feed of the tiles along the table e, f can be effected by a conveyer engaging with catches behind each batch of tiles. A second grinding roller h may be provided for grinding the adjacent edges. Several grinding rollers g, h can be arranged in series in the feeding direction of the tiles so as progressively to remove more material. The grinding rollers and their electric drive motors may be mounted on a common support pivotable at one end about a vertical axis and adjustable by a hand-operated device at the other end. Gauges may be provided between the grinding rollers.
