Abstract

745,617. Sliding clasp fasteners. HAIR, D. L. Feb. 9, 1954, No. 3812/54. Addition to 745,564. Class 44. In the fastener disclosed in the parent Specification, the teeth on one side of a member and the recess on the other side are so shaped as to form a frustum having an axis which is inclined to a plane normal to the width of the member. As shown, a hexagonal frusturn-shaped tooth b is formed on one side of a body portion of each interengaging member, a corresponding recess being provided on the other sider of the member. The member is formed with a bulge a which is engaged by a wall of a slide h. The base of the slider is provided towards its opening end with a shoe j formed by a fin r which rides on the fastener members, and the floor of the slider is sloped at its other end, from each side wall towards its centre line. In small fasteners, stoppers c, provided on the interengaging members, may be dispensed with.
