Abstract
742,515. Buildings, glasshouses, &c. EADE, D. G. Oct. 28, 1954 [Oct. 30, 1953], No. 30010/53. Class 20(1). Gaps 16 and 28 are provided in the sides and roof of a building, e.g. a greenhouse or a lean.to, to accommodate a ladder 12 used for repairing, &c. the roof. Alternatively adjacent buildings with a common continuous ridge bar may be spaced apart the width of a ladder. The gaps are closed in by panels. The panels may comprise a top panel 29, Fig. 4, hinged to the ridge bar 19 and a wall panel 30 and a roof panel 39 hinged together for removal as a unit. When in position the panels 30, 39 are secured together at the correct angle by fittings and bolts 35 and wing units. The panel 39 is secured to the ridge panel 29 by a block 44 and bolts 46 with wing nuts 47. To form the gap the ridge panel 29 is hinged down to position 29A the panel 39 is hinged down to position 39A and along with panel 30 is then removed. Equivalent arrangements are provided for longer span roofs, Fig. 5 (not shown) and for multiple roofs joined at their eaves, Fig. 6 (not shown).
